straticasters are sweet just because the different pickup sounds, which is the only diffence between the amount of knobs and the way they look,definatly agree with jersey because his point stands very correct,but if u have an amp with a shit load of an effects, a tele can have sounds very similar to a strats pickups

Both of them are sick guitars. A Strat is a little more versatile when it comes to the sound. Telecasters tend to be a bit twangy but I still love the sound they produce. I guess it depends on what you are trying to accomplish sound-wise.
