Agreed do it now! But you know the strategy will be, wait until everyone forgets so they can say "well it wasn't really like that" and deny everything.

why are there not hearings about fannie and freddie, RIGHT NOW! not after the election, but right NOW! when the truth comes out heads are going to roll, and many of those heads will be democrats, could that be the reason why there is no investigation going on today.......i think so

It's not even just socialism for the rich, this is WELFARE for the rich!People usually say, "I don't support welfare because you're just giving money to lazy people."Well now those same people better be saying, "I don't support welfare because you're giving money to banks that were greedy to the American people and failed due to their own fucking greed!" Let these greedy fucks rot in Hell!McCain and Obama BOTH support these bailouts.Be smart with your vote, vote Bob Barr!!!

The gen'l welfare clause was a do no harm clause just as much as it meant that any of govt's spending must benefit ALL citizens TOTALLY EQUALLY, like a battleship satisfies. The alternative is specific spending, like a "Bridges to Nowhere". Corrupt and illegal, and yet the progressive era corruptors of our constitution, a compact (contract), has been misconstrued to allow the finance of re-election spending, and not just mere battleships, but ever more wars & welfare - corp too.

The "general welfare" clause is bullshit as it can be interpreted to mean anything. Our federal government's powers are specifically enumerated in the Constitution. I have no problem with states coming up with their own policies, but our federal government has no Constitutional mandate to "bailout" these two mortgage firms.

Ripping off one group for the benefit of another group is the opposite of the general welfare.

Well, this pretty much blows up the fraud of modern "conservatism." |
