Aug. 2 - A major US toy maker is recalling 1.5 million Chinese-made toys because of high levels of lead in the paint. The recalled toys made for Mattel's Fisher-Price range include popular pre-school characters like Elmo and Big Bird along with dozens of other items. The recall comes amid heightened concern worldwide about the safety of China's exports. Mattel said it had isolated two-thirds of the affected toys before they reached the shelves. In the United States, the Fisher-Price toys were sold nationwide between May and August. Customers who are worried are advised to go to Mattel's website for more information. Helen Long reports.

It's only gotten worse. MUCH WORSE. NO PROGRESS HAS BEEN MADE WHAT SO EVER. WHAT SO EVER.Health Canada says now that 1 in 4 products, repeat, 1 in 4 products have dangerous levels of lead in it. WHAT THE HELL? 1 (ONE) in 4 (FOUR) products. Helloooohoooo macfllyyyhiiiii.FUCK CHINESE PRODUCTS.

Yes indeed Mattel had no idea! Give me a break. Zhang Shuhong, the man who owned the Chinese company committed suicide. Mattel suits get bonuses and forgiven loans. That seems fair in a Barbie world.

Screw all these nit-wit China bashers. Here's what I would do:Kick all American toy companies out of China. Produce and export Chinese brand toys and charge 30 times more than what the Chinese got from those moron Amerian co's (use the money to hire consultants on US laws & regulations) or stop export all toys to US all together, screw them!OrWith 1.3 Chinese consumers, redirect resources toward domestic consumptions or export to other part of world. Screw the Americans!

Good news for you.All tickets for Beijing games reserved to foreign countries are sold out.

It is not the job of Chinese government to check every factory dealing with american companies. This has to be done by the american companies themselves.Companies like Mattel should stop bargaining for cheapest price otherwise they will always be "cheated" by their counterparts

I know in many 3rd world countries where western companies deal, they bargain for cheapest prices. Big profit for them and little for their counterparts. To add insult to injury, they impose that they have right to send labour inspectors. They impose short delivery time - that their counterparts have to force their workers to work long extra hours and when there is industrial problems, they dare to pinpoint their counterparts for violation of workers rights. Thats hypocrisy

So are companies like Mattel ready to reduce their profit margin. Are american consumers like you ready to pay more so that workers in the third world countries get more wage.
