Sorry, tarot cards did not evolve into modern playing cards. Playing cards pre-date tarot in Europe by about 100 years, tarot was created by adding the trumps. We tend to think of them as intended for games because that is what they were used for and there is no evidence to suggest they were intended for anything else. All of the images are of a Medieval/Renaissance Christian tradition, with, again, no evidence to the contrary.

Which means you have no evidence!

The cards in China and the middle east were non tarot playing cards!

The Tarot as we know it came from Italy but there were cards found a lot older than that in China and the Middle east.

What evidence, your opinion? The first "Tarot cards" were hundreds of years ago, and evolved into the modern playing cards. I never said what they were used for. I said you cannot know what the creator meant them to be used for a game or divination or both.As I said Occult was devils works so anyone trying to sell occult items would be killed, so sell them as a game? How do you know what the "real use" of tarot is? Can you read minds, are you all knowing?

Why don't we rely on what the evidence tells us. How do you know what the "real use" of tarot is?
casandrakumsung (January 1, 1970 at 12:59 am)
Occult had to be hidden, so even if the origin of the Tarot appears to be a card game does not mean the creators made it for that. You can not know what was in their minds when they created Tarot. They had to hide the real use otherwise face death, or at the least no one would publish it.Anyone could have made "cards:" the first cards were hand done and we could never know what was in the mind of the person. Most people believed in the "occult" in those days even if they did not admit it.

Thats pure bullshit!
casandrakumsung (January 1, 1970 at 12:59 am)
It was interesting. Some information. Anyone that practices the occult in those days would be killed for Heresy and devil worship. So even if the Tarot was made readings it would have Sold for a card game to hide the real reason they were made. |
