The best version of this song that I have heard Nanci do, I think Nanci had a flashback to Townes along the way near 438, she sings this song with much love & emotion..Hooker does a nice part with the keys & the harmony at the end caps it off..thanks for the post...peace

I never saw this tribute show that Townes' friends did for him on Austin City Limits.. The quality of the sound in this piece is indeed too high. Much distortion, too much to enjoy the performance.

The sound quality is really bad, which is unfortunate because it's a wonderful song. Can you upload it again? With less volume, otherwise there is so much distortion. Thanks in advance. With appreciation. Peter

But, but, but, she didn't write this masterpiece. It was written by the incomparable Townes Van Zandt. She just does the best cover of it that even he had ever heard, or so he had said.

Nancy gets my vote as the best songwriter from Texas. Thanks! |
