trueotherone (January 1, 1970 at 12:59 am)
haha yea, just take a diesel turbo eh?
LucifersSatanicGoat (January 1, 1970 at 12:59 am)
they make wiring kits that make it real easy to wire up fuel injection but I would ask that turbos10 guy about his set up forget about me that dude has a nice set up and check out ebay its all there........isnt the holeset turbo from a 18wheeler people make some crazy homemade turbo systems that work! fun project

yea, thats the problem. i am a carb guy. efi is a pain with all the fing wires. so but have you seen the procharger connection from the supercharger to the carb? would that work with a turbo? and if i went with a turbo how would i control the max boost so i dont blow the engine and myself up? and if i do get into the relm of 700+ hp at the crank will the bottom end be able to handle it or will i have to rebuild that too?
LucifersSatanicGoat (January 1, 1970 at 12:59 am)
turbos make torque there are alot of different size turbos that will work to keep it cheap I would use 2 rebulit stockers and turn the exhaust manifold around connect the turbo directly to the manifold but really you need EFI blow thru carbs and turbos are a pain in the ass

i guess. i dont know much about turbos. i know that for every pound of boost you get 7% more power and you get 5% more on your compression ratio. but for every 10deg. you cool the air you get another 1% onto each lb of boost. so to get it to 600wph you lose 15% throu the tranny so thats about 700hp at the crank. lets say i am getting 12lbs of boost to be safe. i have huge horse but no torque. i dont know what size turbos id have to use. and blow off vulvae and everything. do u have any advice?
LucifersSatanicGoat (January 1, 1970 at 12:59 am)
nevermind you have a carb
LucifersSatanicGoat (January 1, 1970 at 12:59 am)
arent turbos cheaper? nice 3inch fmic kit 2 rebuilt stock 4cylinder turbos and 100 of piping bent at local muffler shop and theres 600 hp for under 1000.00 how much will that blower cost ?
trueotherone (January 1, 1970 at 12:59 am)
haha nice. i have a 87 s10 mini truck that i did the 350 v8 swap and lowering kit. edel brock heads, intake and carb... but you know 400hp is fun when you are 14... but wippin honda civics isnt enough. so i have spent all the money i have earned since i was 10 when i started working. so now i amd saving for a new cam, and carbs so i can unload a 6-71 blower on it and hoping for 600+hp so i can leave almost eveything long behind. maybe if anyone keeps up do a 150hp shot of nos
LucifersSatanicGoat (January 1, 1970 at 12:59 am)
the efi isnt hard on an ls engine painless made that easy and there are other kits the EFI intake is very low lower than the coil packs and they do make carb intakes for ls motors edelbrock has a nice one alot of people want the ls motors because of the high flowing heads the oil pan is pretty compact too I put a regular chey 350 in a 70 mgb with a powerglide with stock everything else the rear held up the frame broke right behind where i was sitting
