There is a bit in the film when Mcqueen starts to imagine someone is saying to him 'you are guilty of the worse crime of all, leading a wasted life'-Spot on.

I've saw the movie late one night while in high-school & then I found the book on my uncles bookshelf & read it. This has got to be one of the best movies & best acting I have ever seen. This awesome epic story of human perserverance inspires me to never give up in life, not matter what it throws at you. No matter how much oppression someone has to deal with you can always get back up & fight because life is all about survival. Props to Steve McQueen & Henri Cherriere.

This is one of the best films ever made! I ssaw it when it first came out at the picture show & have seen it several times since then. Steve McQueen will always be rememberd for the Great Escape, which is a great film, but in my opinion, this film "Papillon" is better. Another great Mcqueen film is "Nevada Smith".
