There were plenty of shooting and lot'sa drugs back then actually...the drugs were done in the back alley by the musicians...and there were gangland shoot outs now and then...so yeah, there were drugs and guns then... only different now is that there's NO REAL JAZZ... that's the only thing missing...

Imagine if clubs were like this today! No one shooting or stabbing falling out drunk...everyone just having a great time! Dinah was awesome! Bring back yesteryear!!!

Dinah Washington remains one of the great female vocalist. She was a wonderful blues, jazz, and rhythm & blues singer. She was a real chameleon. She knew how to interpet a song. Her music is timeless. A very unique performer.

Great lady of Jazz. Sadly a short life. She died at age 39 from an accidental overdose of prescription sleeping medication. |
