Of Montreal song ("Every Day Feels Like Sunday" from the Sunlandic Twins Bonus EP) on a Nasdaq commercial. I understand they're using the cash to pay for an amazing stage show.

i mean honestly, my only problem with this is that they cut out all the words except for "everyday feels like sunday baby, everyday feels so good"

it's called feeding your family.and no one i ask ever knows who of Montreal is. It's not like they tell you who does the song in the comercial or anything.

I've known Kevin's sister for years, and it has taken of Montreal at least 15 years to get where they are today. Kevin's made a lot of sacrifices. Some people see indie musicians doing commercials as "selling out". I see it as survival! As a parent of a kid in an indie-pop band, Afternoon Naps, I can tell you that these musicians can barely make it financially due to the part-time and flexible hours they need to be available to do shows or tour.

I think your rage has confused you. I'm not seeing in my comment where I stood up for NASDAQ. But on the other hand, I don't really care how much THEY lost you, especially when i'm sure it wasn't "them" really, as a collective.I suppose you should just get over it?

I love of montreal but I FUCKING DESPISE NASDAQ. they've lost me thousands of dollars and how fucking DARE you stick up for them. I hate hipsters. what the fuck do you suppose i do about this situation?

(i'm adding to my previous comment)most people won't even care who sings the song, only people who truly like their kind of music will care and know that the ad is by of montreal, they arent gonna become the next "maintstream" hit, their music hasn't changedthe band just needs money, and some listeners out there who wouldn't have found them any other wayalthough i hate outback's choice of lyrics on "wraith", it doesn't make any sense haha

i'm a fan of the bandbut i don't feel that the music fits properly with the action of the commerical, however i think its fun when someone asks me who they are if they see it on my ipod and i answer "they are the band from the outback commercial" chances are, they won't go research them, or care(even though thats what i did, i heard the jingle and immediately found them)they need the money

It's one thing for a band to let people use their music for commercials, I understand like this but if from The Dead Kennedys or Tay Zonday. Then no, the songs have real political meanings and should be kept like it.
