As an historian about elections and popular music history (amongst other things, I have Bachelor's Degree in History),i it's possible that people are alluding to the fact that this song was a huge #1 hit back during the election year of 1968 (it was #1 for one week {would be replace at the top by the Beatles' "Hey Jude", only six weeks before the November week when Richard Nixon was elected to replace LBJ), which had similiar issues to this last election of 2008 and very similiar outcomes.

What does this song have to do with an election? Probably that there are certain groups here in the US that stand for one "thing" and are hypocritical in their "ways of life" (interpret that as you wish). This is nothing more than a GREAT SONG that deals with the old saying "people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" or the Biblical passage "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." PEACE AND TOLERANCE TO ALL!

this was recommended for me to watch. swinging head, snapping fingers, grinning nostalgically.so, this song is about scandal... lots of people feel the same way about the atmosphere surrounding the election - at least in youtube land.anyway, i'm holding all of america in my heart and prayers today.we're in for a ride, and we're all on it together, eh?
