I was voicing the opinion which is prevalent in my Zither Club. It has both Concert Zither and Guitar Zither players.

Depends upon one's interpretation of "ordinary". Most zither players would probably define the fretted Concert Zither (played here by Karas) as standard. The other type is the Guitar Zither (akkoordcither in Dutch, probably something similar in German). This instrument is fretless and, as its tablature is put under the strings, it can be played even by those who do not read the usual musical notation.

Karas is playing no ordinary Zither but aZither called a "Concert Zither" .Great to see him but the video feed stops andstarts enough like a maniac.

The instrument is called "Zither". I think it is the same word in english and german :) |
