David Crowder Band does a version of this song, which we have done in church before. I didn't realize it was her song originally. Very cool!

No no. It was actually quite shocking at the time to see a shaven-bald woman. She did it because she wanted to be known for her talent and not her beauty. The ironic thing is that the baldness kind of overshadowed her talent.

I think it had something to do with coming out in the 80's. That was just the style for some people back then.

I have never heard WHY she shaves her head. She's BEAUTIFUL with hair. My hubby says she maybe wants people to focus on what she's saying instead of her beauty. Is anyone aware of an interview where she explains that? Thanks ahead of time.
