Yes, people don't understand that racing is a marginal activity.Example: Karting because is cheap and popular.The faster karting categories is a superkart 250, and it's burn 30 litres for a full week-end of racing. We talk about 75 miles with qualification and testing. Now, compare that with a KIA Rondo that done 22 m/g average, we have 12 litres.But now, multiply 12 by the number of SUV that been drive for 75 miles one day.And 30 by the number of kart making 60 miles one day.

You want to see gas prices go down? ban the military. Racing uses less than 1% of a specific type of fuel. Race cars are tuned to burn the fuel they are given perfectly. Cow farts are more of a problem than all of the racing in this country together. You want to make a difference be for something instead of against something else. Like for hybrid cars, wind power, solar, geo thermal anything else other than saving gas to burn in your SUV. I hope your child grows up to be a racecar driver.
