First of all its Master Cheif.Self-defence and attempted murder are two different things completely. If you really dont believe that then good luck trying to convince a jury otherwise. It's kind of a hard argument to win and cases are built around turning attempted murder into self-defence because of the major differences involved.

At :54 Carmela sees Tony instantly...at 4:30Meadow had to seen her Family sitting in the same spot...the instant the bell rings when she walks in it gives 2 seconds of time for her to have seen a "killer" from almost any angle..why didnt her or anyone else in the Diner full of people scream!? You know she seen them sitting at the table..she was late and probably looking for them from the instant she could see through the glass of the front door. Just a thought..no one has ever brought it up...

The people that say it was a shit ending, in my opinion, didn't know anything about the series and the way David Chase wrote. The series is like REAL LIFE you won't get closure on every little thing that happens. who says Tony has to die? Maybe he is dead? Maybe he isn't.David wrote the show like it was real life...he brought us into tony's world for a couple years...then...he took us out of tony's world. Maybe tony's dead, maybe he's still alive. That's what makes it great!

Chief,It's an attempt of a different ilk. Richie was dead set on offing Tony, and he was not aware of Junior's decision.About Ralph, I UNDERSTAND that it was self-defense--so what? Do you honestly think he was just trying to "get Tony to stop?" Hell no. He was going to kill Tony if Tony didn't kill him first.

Ok that was a misunderstanding. The entire time I had Ritchie Jr in my mind for some reason. But i still wouldn't count that because although he wanted him dead that's as far as he got. No attempts were made whatsoever. He contemplated. Two different things completely. If he attempted, he would have been dead a lot sooner. He didn't plan anything either, he ran his thoughts by junior who dismissed it and later told tony about it. That's not an attempt.
