I love the UNSW, i play on the cricket side get heavily in the student life and promote it to anyone and everyone. But I have i have to say ever since VSU began the University is letting its students down as expressed here in the video. If UNSW wants to regain its mantle of being the top educational institute in Australia it will have to bring back the 14 week semester, CSU and stop selling out its student, most of whom love UNSW.

I go to UNSW aswell.I havnt bought much have the prices gone up?I've joined Arc. It's better than people make it out 2b. u get 5 drink vouchers 4 the uni bar & the arc stores(close to $80 value all up)plus other vouchers. So if u join 2 clubs just those2 sets of vouchers alone make it cheaper. Plus ur helping arc who are here 2 help us & if people dont join the fees will increase & may become manditory. This is all due to union fees not being compulsory people altleast we're not paying $500.

GroupsArc charges $40 per club you join + the club sign up feeif you join Arc for $149 you can join for freeworth it if you plan to join 4 or moreThis puts me off to join anythingI like the new Free UniwideI dont like the destruction of the old student guild, source, no more cheap food around uni, everything is expensiveused to love the old shop at badabagan, $5-6 chicken shitzel and chips and saladAnd lets not forget the shortening of the semester from 14 weeks to 12

i totally agree about the general consensus regarding the culture of the University. I feel that the university is in danger of losing sight of the value of knowledge as an ends in and of itself and focusing too much on quantifiable outcomes . It is definitely one of the least family friendly universities, certain faculties more than others.

Great vid, really expresses the issues that are currently facing students. I agree, the food prices are ridiculous, the avaerage salad can go up to 9 to 12 dollars. Its really like eating at a restaurant except with plastic forks and sitting on the grass. I also think the basser steps are horrible, not because I'm lazy, but because it really takes away any energy you have from your already very tiring day. |
