elmanolette-I appreciate the fact you are making the effort to speak English. I would rather you spoke it poorly than not at all. I also believe you should retain your native tongue and teach it to your children. People discriminate for many reasons. That will never stop. You are smart not to let that ignorance hinder your ability to communicate in the country you have chosen to live in. It will be to your benefit. You are mistaken though in that there are hostilities especially around Quebec.

I'm Mexican and I understand everything you say.I live in Toronto Canada nobody complains about French or another language. We make our best learning Englis, but when I find in USA some people discriminating me because of my accent or my background I would rather speak spanish.
