yea, sad but true. This would never fly today.. bands like Cream, Yardbirds, Hendrix, Zepp, Purple, and of course Sabbath.

The simple answer is we lost. By "we" I mean all of us who care for music, and all of them who tried to change the music business to favor the artist. The labels won. We now get The Jonah Brothers and Miley Cyrus who admit maybe a five or ten second lead-guitar solo admist the muck that is pre-teenage sound. If I may borrow from the melody of this tune, "We came on a time when we could have changed all the world ... instead we find that the powers that be stay the same. In the white room."

clapton said in the past that there is a picture of a wall that's spray painted 'clapton is god', and a dog is pissing on it- he thought that about summed it up, he was/is a humble down to earth blues man.
